We'd decided that whilst we were in Melbourne we should go and watch something at the MCG. We'd also decided that whilst in Australia we should see some aussie rules football. These two aims were achieved through one plan to watch an AFL game at the MCG.
Collingwood v Melbourne was being played today and a ticket for the price of AUS$20 (about a tenner in proper money). Collingwood were at home so we supported them. Ben felt right at home as Collingwood play in black and white stripes and are nicknamed the magpies. The only difference between them and Newcastle is Collingwood won! Yeah I went there, take that Ben!
In the evening we decided to see another comedy act. They are called 'The List Operators'. The woman at the ticket counter says she has heard good things and she is going to see them when she gets a night off. I wonder if she says that about every act. However I've heard some good things too and they won some awards last year at the festival. It turns out they are very funny and as the more perceptive may have guessed their act revolves around lists, such as 'Countries it's okay to be racist about' which is based on audience participation. Amazingly nobody suggests the USA. Less amazingly France makes the list... twice.
