So today was the first day of our trip where we were rather unlucky with the weather. It rained. Hard. All day. Thunder and lighting and everything. This gave us a chance to do some washing though. The excitement!
However in the evening the rain cleared. Now the advantage of coming to Melbourne a week later is that the International Comedy Festival has just started. Huzzah! The shows are also cheaper in the first few days of the festival as they are 'Previews'. Double Huzzah!
We head into town and consult the big board which lists all the acts and informs people of what is sold out. There are a wide range of comedians here from international stars like Steve Coogan to local university students. Arj Barker (Flight of the Conchords) is sold out... hmm... still tickets for Rich Hall and Reginald D. Hunter who have both made me laugh on 'QI' and 'Have I Got News For You'. We end up going for Rich Hall who puts on a great show. The first half of the show is him doing straight standup, whilst the second half involves his country singer character Otis Lee Crenshaw. A good time is had and we head home.
