Casio Watch Feb '09 to Mar '09. Our time together was short but she served me well.
The day started a little later than usual. We are still catching up on lost sleeping hours is our excuse. Today we headed to Bondi Beach, we felt we couldn't go to Sydney and not check it out. I'm also worried that at the age of 24 I shouldn't be so excited at the prospect of double decker trains.
Bondi is pretty much as expected with lots of surfer shops, beach clothing, cafes and bars. We were a little late to do a walk we had planned so just chilled on the beach. I was informed in Vietnam by some Aussies that all you need to do to get on the TV is to get into difficulty in the sea at Bondi as the rescue crews are filmed as part of a reality show. However neither of us got in trouble in the sea which was a shame.
In hindsight wearing my watch into the sea may have not been the wisest move but it had coped previously with a bit of sea water but alas not this time. The watch had served me well as alarm and timekeeper. We grab some food from a place overlooking the beach and head home. We have an early start tomorrow.
Note: Thongs are not the same thing in Australia. The headline 'School children given free thongs for Australia Day' was not as creepy as it first appeared (thongs are flip flops).
