Nine Hundred Dollarly Doos!?

Suddenly everything seems expensive having come from South East Asia. No more glasses of beer for 3000 Vietnamese Dong (about 20p).

We head towards the Royal Botanical Gardens which are near the Opera House. On the way we stroll through Hyde Park and then we spot the library has some exhibitions on. One of the exhibitions is an art prize called the 'Moran Prize'. It's a competition for Australian artists with portrait and open photography sections. Ben doesn't agree with the winners. My enjoyment is only spoilt by those people who are often found in art galleries who are desperately trying to sound as clever as possible whilst discussing the artwork. Back on the trail for the Royal Botanical Gardens we discover an art gallery. There is a lot of 18th and 19th Century paintings by various European and Australian artists. Then there was some modern stuff, including some modern aboriginal art which was very interesting. Now full of culture we finally explore the botanical gardens. A nice place to leisurely stroll around. We walk up to the Opera House and have a look around. We grab some food and have a few drinks but we are still quite tired so we go back to the hostel to play pool. I lose my unbeaten record in the 2 Guys 1 World pool series... a sad day.
