We set off for Taupo quite early, we can't remember if it was raining or not which means it probably wasn't. We arrived in Taupo by about 2pm after we had dropped people off to do the skydive as the weather was clear enough over the lake to do today but the Tongorio Crossing was definitely off until after Sunday meaning we wouldn't be able to do it in the time we had in Taupo, which made me a sad panda.
We then got a lift to the Huka falls an impressive waterfall on the Waikato river which was the main river flowing into Lake Taupo. The falls were pretty impressive with the aqua blue water flowing through the gorges before plummeting over the small but powerful falls.
We knew the weather for the next few day wasn't going to be too amazing and as our driver, Dave put it. It is going to be Poos and Wees, he really did like this phrase and it amused me every time he mentioned . We decided to have a few drinks as the jugs of Snakebite at our hostel were very cheap and we played a bit of pool were I managed to take the lead in the overall pool series 6-5 for the first time with the standard of pool definitely the highest so far.
